Frichette Vertical Wine Tasting Experience

Saturday, April 20th was a special annual event at Frichette Winery on Red Mountain.  Each year Shae and Greg Frichette hold an annual Vertical Tasting Experience at their tasting room.  This is where they pull libraried wine selections from their cellar to share with a small group of club members to compare vintages.  This was a great opportunity for Frichette Cru members to see how the wines are evolving as they age and to engage directly with the wine makers as we tasted these great selections.  Being a small production winery, Frichette typically has a limited stock of libraried wines, and some vintages sell out quickly, so this event was really fun and worthwhile.

The wine selections included:

  • Red Mountain Petit Verdot                                         2013, 2015 and 2016 vintages
  • Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon                          2012, 2013 and 2014 vintages
  • Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon                      2011, 2012 and 2013 vintages
  • Columbia Valley Merlot                                              2011, 2012 and 2013 vintages

At the end of the tasting event the Frichette’s provided barrel tastes of their 2018 Carménère.  What a delicious offering that was!  This varietal is my wife’s absolute favorite Red, and we are both excited to see what the future holds for this amazing Frichette wine!  – Thanks to you both Shae and Greg for putting together such an outstanding event.  Can’t wait until next year!
