On Saturday August 24^th, my wife and I attended Col Solare’s 2016 Tenuta Cabernet Sauvignon Release Tasting.   We were met by April Reddout and Felicia Smoker who do an outstanding job of managing and coordinating the tasting room and other special events at Col Solare.  Since their arrival, the aura and ambiance of Col Solare as a wine tasting venue has really been enhanced.  It’s much more inviting and relaxing, but still classy and elegant.

Col Solare’s Tenuta line of Cabernet Sauvignon was crafted by Darel Allwine.  This amazing wine is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Col Solare Estate Vineyard fruit, and represents a blend of Clones 2, 6 and 10.  It was aged in new French oak barrels for 22 months with only 150 cases being produced.  Darel poured our tastings and also treated us to a sample of the newly bottled 2017 Tenuta as well!  What a treat.  This was a side-by-side tasting to remember.

To top things off, Fat Olives catered the tasting!  They provided some delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres that paired nicely with these fantastic Cabs!  We ended up walking away with a bottle of the 2016 Tenuta.  We will eventually purchase more until the stash runs out!  Thank you Darel, April and Felicia, and thank you Col Solare!  Cheers to a fantastic 2016 Tenuta Release!!!
